We’ve been buzzing around the shop these past couple of weeks, and if you’re anything like me, you probably think a week before Christmas is plenty of time to get those gifts out. Spoiler alert: it’s not. Sure, you can ship them a week before, but you’ll pay premium rates for that last-minute rush. Carriers know procrastinators well, and after December 15, the prices climb fast.

The reality for 2025 to get the most economical prices for all carriers:

I know some of you wonder why people still ship gifts through the post when Amazon can do it for you. As someone who grew up in the days of mailed gifts from grandparents, wrapped in paper they knew I’d love, I can tell you: that personal touch never goes out of style.
