We’re Famous!
I mean, in our immediate neighborhood we are. A local periodical, The Arden Park Local, put us in as their Business Spotlight. They did a very favorable article about Arden Dispatch and our family, so basically, we are now famous. 😂
Arden Park and Arden Oaks, the closest neighborhoods to us, have been nothing but welcoming and our biggest cheerleaders throughout the first two years (our 2-year anniversary is May 23). I can’t say enough about all the neighbors we now consider friends, or at least close acquaintances.
We have seen pregnancies come to fruition, and now many of those tots are walking! People have shared about the deaths of loved ones and we have given many hugs. I loved the group of 3 moms who came in slightly tipsy supporting their friend through the finalization of a divorce when it was clear she was really sad, but needed to get some divorce docs notarized.
During the Holidays, we get the drama on family dynamics and which aunt refuses to bring what she is assigned or the cousin who’s significant other is a piece of work. We hear about the parents who flew out to New Orleans to watch their daughter’s boyfriend ask her to marry him and now we get to hear all the wedding planning.
We know the pups who are so excited to see us because we give them treats, and we also laugh at the people who always come in because we have candy (god, they’re so easy to please) 😘.
Our drivers are the BEST in the business, every single one of them: Kenny our USPS driver is learning to square dance and is currently at his first square dance convention; Billy our UPS driver is practically family giving Anna, our high school employee, advice on how to find a Homecoming date or laughing at our dumb antics like scaring him in the back room; Tyus our FedEx Express driver shares a love of Love Island with Chloe and always comes in with a smile and a hug; Eric our FedEx Express Saturday driver drives up blaring rock music from the 80’s and walks in with the best attitude and spirit; Leo our FedEx Ground driver was slow to warm up to us, but now we tease with him and he tries to teach us Russian. He hasn’t been successful; we suck at remembering the words.
Anyway, all that to say that we are having a great time here and we have to thank the Arden-area neighbors and our drivers for making our days so much fun. Thank you, Arden Park, for making us famous!
